Ladies with terrible PMS! I am talking to you.
Do you know that our bodies have internal clocks? These clocks regulate our sleep, elimination, hormone production, digestion, and a number of other things as well. Learning about these clocks and working with them can help you reduce your monthly PMS symptoms. How would you like to live without monthly cramping, bloating, irritability, and heavy bleeding?
How is PMS currently affecting your life? You may have anger and frustration when others enter the room, and yell at them for insignificant reasons. Your face may explode with acne every month. Do you swell up like a balloon so that only your sweatpants fit? If you have no energy to pursue your passions, are tired of bleeding through your clothes, and are miserable for several days every month, then get ready for a major change. Stick around if you want to learn how simple changes in your daily habits can help reduce or eliminate your PMS forever.
Us women are expected to push through these awful symptoms and continue to work through the pain like it is no big deal. Well, not feeling good is a big deal! So, I’m here to teach you how to take control of your hormones and help you feel better every single month.
If you are taking pain pills and are curled over a heating pad for several days in a row, listen up. There are changes you can make in your daily habits that will help you eliminate these awful feelings for good. I know how horrible your PMS symptoms can be. The cramping, bloating, mood swings, and heavy periods. Those awful symptoms make you angry and miserable. This also affects everyone around you, especially your spouse and kids.
There are 4 phases in the menstrual cycle – the follicular phase, ovulation, the luteal phase, and either menstruation or pregnancy depending on whether an embryo implants. In a nutshell, your body is doing different things in each of these phases so you need to eat different foods, incorporate different exercises and adjust your social calendar based on where you are in the menstrual cycle.
Here are some lifestyle habits that are giving you PMS. If you are eating inflammatory foods like dairy products, sugar, processed foods or fried foods regularly, you may have more monthly cramps. Not eating enough dark leafy greens may increase your bloat. Simple sugars can make your acne worse. Too much cardio in your PMS week can raise your cortisol levels (which can affect your sleep and make you irritable).
